Sofia Regional Governor Ilian Todorov bestowed the honorary sign ‘Honoured Citizen of Sofia Region’ on Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov, President of Geotechmin OOD. The reasons for giving this high recognition are: realised long-term investments including those related to the environment, outstanding contribution to the socio-economic development of the region, job creation and donation activities. It was announced in a press release issued by the regional administration office.
Prof. DSc. Eng. Tzolo Voutov is an entrepreneur, scientist and employer of nearly 4,000 people working in the companies of GEOTECHMIN GROUP. Among them is Ellatzite-Med AD – one of the largest investors and taxpayers in Bulgaria. The Group’s companies are actively engaged in increasing economic well-being and quality of life in eight municipalities in Sofia region.
Prof. Voutov is a bearer of Stara Planina Order, First Degree for his exceptional contribution and merits to the economic development of Bulgaria and establishment of contemporary industrial relations, as well as many other awards for his support and commitment to the advancement of business, science and society.
The President of Geotechmin OOD received the honorary badge of Sofia Region’s Governor in 2016, as well as an appreciation certificate and a plaque ‘Honorary Citizen of Etropole Municipality’ for exceptional and distinguished services.
He holds the highest award of the Management Board of the Union of the Blind in Bulgaria – HUMANITATIS CAUZA Statuette and Appreciation Certificate. They were given in recognition of his significant contribution to the social integration of visually impaired people.
Prof. Voutov was honoured with the Chairman’s Award of the Confederation of Employers and Industrialists in Bulgaria for overall contribution to the development of Bulgarian economy. The prize was conferred for long-term investments and growth, job preservation and creation, innovation and contribution to scientific and social activities.
The President of Geotechmin OOD is a winner of the highest award of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry – a bronze statuette HERMES and an appreciation certificate for significant contribution to achieving the Chamber’s goals and activities, long-term effective support and dedication to the development of Bulgarian economy, and on the occasion of his 70th anniversary. He is also a bearer of the Honorary Sign of the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy.
Prof. Voutov was honoured with a special award for his valuable contribution to the Bulgarian economy, scientific research and development at the 13th edition of the annual Investor of the Year Awards given by InvestBulgaria Agency (IBA). The prize is personal and recognises his well-deserved reputation as an industrialist, an investor, a scientist and a public figure.
In 2020, Prof. Tzolo Voutov received Mr Economy Award for his overall contribution to the development of Bulgarian economy, and in 2021 he was conferred with the Red Cross Honorary Badge and a special Certificate of Merit for his personal contribution to the humanitarian causes of the Bulgarian Red Cross.
The companies of GEOTECHMIN GROUP are among the major donors supporting socially beneficial projects in the regions where they operate. Their gratuitous activities are focused on the sustainable development of infrastructure, education, healthcare, social services, and preservation of spiritual virtues. Prof. Voutov is the initiator of Bulgarian Virtues Charity Programme and is personally involved in its implementation. Under the programme, GEOTECHMIN GROUP provides resources and support to local communities in the regions of Etropole and Srednogorie. Four municipalities – Etropole, Mirkovo, Chavdar and Chelopech have already signed framework agreements through which the Group’s companies support and finance essential projects in the context of Covid-19 pandemic.
