The municipality of Strelcha is located in the southern foothills of the Mid Sredna gora on an area of 225 square kilometers and includes the town of Strelcha and four villages – Dyulevo Smilets, Blatnitsa and Svoboda.Its Agricultural lands are 135,325 acres – 96,895 acres of which are arable . Forests are 82,252 acres. On the north Strelcha municipality borders with the municipality of Koprivshtitsa , to the east -the Municipality of Hissar,to the south with the Municipality of Pazardjik and to the west with the municipality of Panagyurishte.
The Transport infrastructure of the municipality comprises convenient roads that connect it with Panagyurishte and Sofia, Koprivshtitsa, Pazardjik, Plovdiv, Karlovo and Hisar. The railway line from Plovdiv to Panagyurishte crosses the municipality.
The population is about 5200 inhabitants, 80% of them live in the town of Strelcha, the municipal center.
